Image Members work to make our Oshkosh community a better place

 to live.  In the past year our club has supported the following local projects:

  • Served as volunteers at EAA AirVenture and conducted a program to provide for housing for visiting Rotarians and their guests during the event;
  • Participated in Shared Harvest, a program to obtain farmers' donations of Farm Market excess produce for the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry;
  • Participated in a "Stock the Shelves" work morning at Oshkosh Area Community Pantry;
  • Joined with students from our PALS school, South Park Middle School, in a Spring Cleanup of South Park;
  • Worked concessions, parking lots and entrances at Waterfest;
  • Awarded $1,000 to the Winnebago County Department of Veterans Services to help furnish a room in which a new group counseling session for combat veterans will take place;
  • Awarded a $7,500 grant for technology needs at Oaklawn Elementary School;
  • Donated all of the net proceeds of our Spring Flower Sale, over $4,000, to the new Tri-County Mobile Dental Clinic, bringing needed dental services to local schools to serve qualified needy children in Winnebago, Outagamie, and Calumet Counties;
  • Worked at the "Red Kettle" effort at holiday time to raise funds for Salvation Army's service to poor and homeless;
  • Donated $1,000 to support the Oshkosh Police Department's K-9 Care Fund;
  • Joined with other Oshkosh Rotary Clubs to sponsor a, "Nutcracker on the Town";
  • Conducted an essay contest for students at South Park Middle School, our PALS (Partners at Learning) school, on the applicability of the Rotary Four-Way Test of ethical behavior to their anti-bullying program, with a top prize of $100.
  • Joined with Oshkosh Southwest Rotary and the Oshkosh Morning Rotary clubs to make a total donation of $10,000, eligible for a match, for the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry food bank;
  • Donated $1,000 to support the "South Park Bookworms" project, which aims to give a book to keep in the hands of middle-schoolers to encourage literacy.Image
  • Also supported:  the Oshkosh Area United Way annual campaign and campaign kickoff event;  Day-by-Day Warming Shelter.
